Numismatic issues dedicated to 550 years since the consecration of the Putna Monastery’s church

The National Bank of Romania has put recently into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a gold coin and a brass collector coin dedicated to 550 years since the consecration of the Putna Monastery’s church. 

Obverse of the gold coin: an image of the Putna Monastery’s church, the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc, the face value “100 LEI”, the coat of arms of Romania, the inscription “PUTNA” and the year of issue “2019”.

Obverse of the brass collector coin: an image of the Putna Monastery’s church, the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc, the face value “50 Bani”, the coat of arms of Romania, the inscription “PUTNA” and the year of issue “2019”.

Reverse (common to the gold coin and the brass collector coin): the portrait of ruler Ștefan cel Mare and the inscription “STEFAN CEL MARE” in an arc.

The gold and brass collector coins are individually housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French, NBR reports.

Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.

The mintage is:

  • 500 gold coins;
  • 10,000 brass collector coins

The selling prices are:

  • lei 1,815, VAT excluded, for the gold coin, including the leaflet;
  • lei 10, VAT excluded, for the brass collector coin with face value of bani 50.

The gold and brass collector coins, dedicated to 550 years since the consecration of the Putna Monastery’s church, , are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
