Israel prepares logistics for Holy Fire transfer to Romania amid security challenges

The Embassy of Israel in Romania said on Tuesday that Israeli authorities have begun logistical preparations for the transfer of the Holy Fire from Jerusalem, amid ongoing security challenges in the region.

In a statement posted on social media, the embassy said that “the State of Israel is taking all necessary steps to facilitate the bringing of the Holy Fire from Jerusalem to Romania on the occasion of the Paschal feast”.

According to Israel’s Ambassador to Romania, Lior Ben Dor, preparations are already underway: “Despite the security challenges generated by repeated attempts by Iran to target holy sites in Jerusalem, logistical preparations for this special moment are already in progress”.

“Israeli authorities are working to ensure the necessary conditions for the safe conduct of this long-standing and deeply significant tradition,” he added.

“Our embassy also expresses its desire to celebrate the bringing of the Holy Fire from Jerusalem together with millions of faithful in Romania,” the institution said.

The representative of the Romanian Patriarchate to the Holy Places also explained the situation in Israel for Basilica.ro, addressing and dispelling online misinformation regarding the transfer of the Holy Fire to Romania.
