Delegation of Romanian Patriarchate visits Jerusalem Patriarchate Exarchate in Nicosia

A delegation of the Romanian Patriarchate accompanying the Hieromartyr Cyprian’s relics on a pilgrimage to Cyprus visited the official Representation of the Jerusalem Patriarchate in Nicosia on Monday.

The Romania delegation, led by His Grace Timotei of Prahova, Assistant Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, was received by Metropolitan Timothy of Vostra, Exarch of the Jerusalem Patriarchate in Cyprus.

“The Church of Cyprus is particularly welcoming, with a great openness towards the Orthodox brethren, and this is evident both from the fact that the Patriarchate of Jerusalem has a Representation here, but also from the fact that many Romanian priests have the opportunity to serve in the Orthodox churches of Cyprus,” said the assistant bishop of the Archdiocese of Bucharest.

“In particular, we would like to express our gratitude to Your Eminence for the openness you always show to Romanians. You are a hierarch who loves brothers and dialogue, and this is not human work, but a gift of the Holy Spirit that only some people can experience in their lives”.

“I told the fathers who are part of the delegation that several years ago, when I visited these places, there was neither a church here nor the appropriate space for such a mission, and everything that has been achieved is due to Your Eminence,” added His Grace Bishop Timotei of Prahova.

Metropolitan Timothy of Vostra spoke appreciatively of His Grace Timotei of Prahova and recalled one of their previous meetings.

“You have the name of Timotei, which is delightful for me. I am welcoming a hierarch I have long known from the Holy City of Jerusalem,” said the metropolitan.

“We can only fulfil our mission with God’s help, because we do everything only for Him. Everything that happens in our lives is part of God’s pedagogy, that is why we must learn to humble ourselves,” the Metropolitan of Vostra added.

His Eminence sent best wishes to Patriarch Daniel of Romania and particularly praised the example offered by the Romanian clergy and faithful who live in Cyprus and Jerusalem.
