Archimandrite Zacharias Zacharou to speak in Deva

The Spiru Haret Hall of the Hunedoara County School Inspectorate in Deva will host a conference by Archimandrite Zacharias Zacharou from the Stavrovegic Monastery of St John the Baptist in Tolleshunt Knights, UK, on the topic ‘Spiritual tension: a way to enter God’s life-giving presence’.

The event will take place Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at 18.00 p.m.

The Very Rev. Archimandrite Zacharias Zacharou is a monk of over 40 years in the Patriarchal Stavropegic Monastery of St John the Baptist in Essex, England, a disciple of Elder Sophrony, and a spiritual grandson of Saint Silouan the Athonite.

He studied theology in Paris and Thessalonica, and is fluent in Greek, Russian, French and English.

While studying for his PhD, Fr Zacharias wrote his doctoral thesis entitled ‘Christ, Our Way and Our Life’.

He has since published many books in multiple languages, and has extensively lectured internationally.
