We live in a world marked by moral crisis and chaos, but there is a remedy, Archbishop of Alba Iulia says

“We live in a world marked by moral crisis and terrifying chaos. Around us, there is pollution, climate change, natural disasters, violence, wars, and epidemics, which make us understand that the wrath of God is upon the children of disobedience, as the Holy Apostle Paul expressed,” said Archbishop Irineu of Alba Iulia on Sunday, August 11.

The Archbishop warned that what happened during the Flood and to Sodom and Gomorrah could happen again.

“Why? Because God is pushed aside, His name is blasphemed, Sunday or the ‘Day of the Lord’ is not respected, and His Law, the divine Law, is stubbornly rejected.”

“There is a remedy,” Archbishop Irineu added: “We must return to God before it’s too late, recognizing Him as our Sovereign, the Sovereign of the whole world and the universe. We must cling to Him with faith, prayer, and a spirit of repentance, saying with the Psalmist: ‘Who is so great a God as our God? You are the God who does wonders!'”

“And we will see His wonders because He is Almighty and always ready to transform evil into good, weakness into strength, sin into forgiveness, sickness into health, defeat into victory, and tears into smiles of happiness.”

Archbishop Irineu served on Sunday in his hometown of Băsești, Maramureș County.
