Visit to Pious Nazaria Social – Philanthropic Settlement of Varatec Monastery

Monday, 15 October 2012, His Beatitude Daniel, Archbishop of Bucharest, Metropolitan of Muntenia and Dobrudgea, Locum Tenens of the Throne of Caesarea of Cappadochia and Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church and His Beatitude Hristofor, Archbishop of Prague and Metropolitan of the Czech Lands and Slovakia visited Pious Nazaria social – philanthropic settlement of Varatec Monastery.

His Eminence Teofan, Metropolitan of Moldova and Bucovina and His Grace Ioachim Bacauanul, Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Roman and Bacau accompanied the two Primates on the visit to the settlement of Varatec Monastery.

Nuns of the monastery, representatives of the Eparchial Centre of Iasi and other persons who contributed to the building of this settlement were also present, as Trinitas Radio station informs us.

The construction of Pious Nazaria social – philanthropic settlement of Varatec Monastery began eight years ago at the time when His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel was Metropolitan of Moldova and Bucovina. At present, the construction of the place is already over and furnished. The kitchen and washhouse will be furnished in the near future. The chapel of the place must be also painted and furnished. All these works will be finished, most probably, next year, when the settlement will be consecrated. 84 old people will be hosted here in the three room flats.
