The Romanian Patriarchate expresses its solidarity with the victims of the Istanbul Airport attack

The Romanian Patriarchate has learned with sorrow about the awful terrorist attack that occurred at the Atatürk International Airport in Istanbul, on 28 June 2016, following which 41 innocent persons were killed and more than 230 were hurt.

We pray to the Most-Merciful God to rest the souls of the departed in His peace and love, and grant quick recovery to the injured. We also express our compassion and solidarity with the bereaved families.

In today’s world, troubled by serious and increasingly numerous problems that often escalate into violence, people have to understand the need for peaceful and harmonious coexistence for a common benefit, and to respect the dignity of the human person, created by God, regardless of ethnicity or religion.
