On 28 October 2012, the solemn session of the Holy Synod will take place in “Patriarch Teoctist” Aula Magna, chaired by His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, in the presence of His Eminence Efrem, Metropolitan of Ydra, Spetses and Egina, guest to the feast of Saint Dimitrios the New, Protector of Bucharest.
The solemn meeting will be preceded by the celebration of the Divine Liturgy by a group of hierarchs, priests and deacons on the podium close to the Patriarchal Cathedral, in the honour of Saint Hierarch Iachint, Metropolitan of Wallachia.
At 12.00 o’clock, the solemn meeting of the Holy Synod on the theme “2012 – Solemn year of the Holy Unction and taking care of the sick” will take place in Patriarch Teoctist Aula Magna of the Patriarchate Palace, under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel. The most important manifestations with religious-spiritual, social-medical, cultural-media character organised this year within the eparchies of the Romanian Patriarchate from the country and abroad will be summed up and estimated. Then, a festivity dedicated to the anniversary of five years since the setting up of the Basilica Press Centre of the Romanian Patriarchate (27 October 2007) will take place and a few new book titles published by the publishing houses of the Romanian Patriarchate and by that of the Archdiocese of Bucharest will be presented.
