Schedule of events dedicated to the Commemorative Year of Hieromartyr Saint Anthimos the Ivirite and of the Church Typographers (September 26 – October 1)

On the 300th anniversary of the martyrical death of St Anthimos the Ivirite, Metropolitan of Wallachia, founder of places of worship, a cultural personality, and typographer, the Romanian Patriarchate and the Archdiocese of Bucharest, with the blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, organize from September 26 to October 1, 2016, several manifestations within the Commemorative Year of Saint Hieromartyr Anthimos the Ivirite and of the Church Typographers:

Monday, 26 September 2016

12.30 p.m. – His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel will meet at the Patriarchal Cathedral the delegation of the Patriarchate of Antioch, led by His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Antioch and all East, and the delegation of the Patriarchate of Georgia, led by His Eminence John, Metropolitan of Rustavi.

16.00 p.m. – At St Anthimos Monastery in Bucharest, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch and His Eminence John, Metropolitan of Rustavi, will officiate the blessing service of the church altar, the painting of the bell tower, and the monastery museum, following restoration works. On this occasion, the relics of the Holy Ruler Prince Martyr Constantin Brâncoveanu will be brought from St George – The New Church to St Anthimos Monastery.

18.00 p.m. – At the Patriarchal Cathedral, the Vigil Service in the honour of Hieromartyr Saint Anthimos the Ivirite will be officiated.

09.30 a.m. – At the outer altar of the Patriarchal Cathedral, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel will concelebrate the Divine Liturgy with His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Antioch and all East, and with Antiochian, Georgian and Romanian Hierarchs.

19.10 p.m. – At the Archdiocesan Cathedral in Râmnicu-Vâlcea, will take place the official reception of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, and the delegations of the Patriarchates of Antioch and Georgia.

08.45 a.m. – At St Anthimos Monastery in Râmnicu-Vâlcea, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, together with the delegations of the Patriarchates of Antioch and Georgia, will participate in the blessing service of the new church, the Divine Liturgy, and the solemn proclamation of the canonization of the Venerable Fathers Saints Neophyte and Meletios from Stânişoara Monastery, and Saints Daniel and Misael from Turnu Monastery, canonized by the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church, during its session from 25 February 2016.

09.30 a.m. – At the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest, on the 9th anniversary of the enthronement as Patriarch of Romania, His Beatitude Daniel, together with the hierarchs of the Holy Synod, will celebrate the Divine Liturgy, in the presence of the delegations of the Patriarchates of Antioch and Georgia. Following the Divine Liturgy, at 12.00 p.m., a Te Deum service will be officiated, as thanksgiving to God for the blessings poured out upon the Romanian Orthodox Church, the Romanian people and His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, during His nine years patriarchal ministry.

10.00 a.m. – At Snagov Monastery, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch and His Eminence John, Metropolitan of Rustavi, will officiate the blessing service for the site of a new chapel and a museum.
