Saint Pious Martyr Ephraim the New Celebrated at Radu Vodă Monastery

A particle of the relics of Saint Pious Ephraim the New celebrated today is kept at Radu Vodă Monastery in Bucharest. On this occasion, His Grace Ieronim Sinaitul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch, celebrated the Divine Liturgy, Thursday, 5 May 2016 – according to Eugen Buchiu, editor at TRINITAS TV.

His Grace delivered a sermon in which he spoke about the life of the saint. The hierarch underlined the fact that Saint Ephraim the New is a precious gift that we have with us.

Radu Vodă Monastery was founded by Prince Alexander II (1568 – 1577) and his wife Ecaterina, as thanksgiving God for his victory in the fight fought over here against Vintilă the Vornic and Dumbravă the Vornic (minister for internal affairs at the time).
