Romanian priest to sing at International Concert of Byzantine Music in Lebanon

A member of the Byzantion choir and priest within the Archdiocese of Bacau and Roman, Father Alexandru Grigoraş will perform during an International Concert of Byzantine Music that will take place on Friday, April 19, 2019, in Beirut, Lebanon.

Church chanters from seven different countries will sing Lenten hymns in the capital of Lebanon during an event organized by the School of Ecclesiastic Music – SEM.

The other performers include Arseny Zaitchev (Russia), Meletios Kashinda (Congo), Vangelis Gkikas (Greece), Nicholas Malek (Lebanon), Mariam Skorda (Greece), and Divna Ljubojevic (Serbia).

Fr Alexandru Grigoraş is a graduate of the Dumitru Staniloae Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Iasi and a member of the Byzantion Choir.

One of his online projects is the interpretation of the Romanian Anastasimatarion by Victor Ojog. Videos are available on his YouTube account.

He composed the musical pieces for the services of Saint Joseph the Merciful, Metropolitan of Moldavia.
