Romanian Patriarchate urges emergency aid after heavy snow and blizzard

Following heavy snowfall and blizzard conditions that have affected numerous communities across the country, the Romanian Patriarchate calls upon all diocesan centres in the affected areas to provide urgent assistance to those in need, especially the elderly and families with limited financial means, to clear snow from their households and overcome critical situations.

At the same time, priests in parishes facing emergency circumstances caused by snow and severe winds are urged, through the involvement of Parish Councils and Parish Committees, to offer material support consisting of food and other essential goods to those affected, so that they may safely overcome the hardships generated by the extreme weather conditions.

The Romanian Patriarchate reaffirms its solidarity with all those who are suffering, calling upon clergy and lay faithful alike to mobilise and offer concrete support to neighbours in need.
