Romanian Patriarch Daniel sends message of sympathy over Greece flash floods

As a sign of sympathy to those seriously affected by the torrential rainfall in Attica region, near Athens, Greece, and by the flash flooding, which killed at least 16 people, and injured more than 20 persons, causing great material damage, the Romanian Patriarchate addresses the Greek people with a message of solidarity on behalf of the clergy and faithful of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

We urge the Romanians who live in the area affected by this calamity (the cities of Mandra, Nea Peramos and Megara) to be with the families now in distress, bringing them spiritual comfort through word and deed and providing material aid according to their possibilities.

We pray to God for the rest of the souls of the deceased and the recovery of the wounded.
