His Eminence Metropolitan Nicolae of the Americas and His Excellency Andrei Muraru, Romania’s Ambassador to the United States, visited the Romanian Orthodox Parish in Las Vegas, Nevada, from April 25 to 27.
Romania’s representative in the U.S. accepted the invitation of Mrs. Lia Roberts, Honorary Consul of Romania in Nevada, in the context of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Las Vegas.
The event was also attended by Stavros Anthony, Lieutenant Governor of Nevada; Joseph Campos, Dean of the Consular Corps in Nevada; Consular Corps members; and numerous Romanian-American community members.
During the visit, Ambassador Andrei Muraru held meetings with Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony and the Mayor of Las Vegas, Shelley Berkley. Discussions focused on opportunities for cooperation in the fields of education, tourism, and sports diplomacy.
His Excellency also extended an invitation to the Las Vegas Philharmonic to participate in the George Enescu International Festival.
