The children’s choir of the Romanian Orthodox parish of Valletta held on Monday, December 21, 2020, a small Christmas carol concert at the presidential palace in Malta.
The children, dressed in folk costumes, and the parish priest George-Alexandru Popescu, were received by the President of the Republic of Malta, George Vella, and his wife, Miriam.
It was a pleasure for us to hear the #voices of 18 #children who created a wonderful #Christmas atmosphere when they visited us at San Anton Palace. We appreciated their sweet voices while singing #Romanian #Orthodox Christmas #carols. pic.twitter.com/mLHW5R3CZv

Upon arrival, the parish priest addressed the President of Malta likening the warm welcome of the Romanian people to the island of Malta with St. Paul’s warm reception there, on his way to Rome.
The children sang carols in Romanian, and the hosts received a translation of the lyrics.
The President of Malta thanked the Romanian children. George Vella had a long discussion with them, and he expressed his joy that they attend schools in Malta and master the Maltese language from an early age.
The Romanian community offered the presidential couple a painted icon, a traditional Romanian bag and a plaque that marked the event.
At the end, the first lady gave sweets to the carolers.
