Polish Church adds 30 names to Synaxis of Podlasie Martyrs

At the meeting of the Bishops’ Council of the Polish Orthodox Church on October 29, 30 names were added to the Synaxis of the Martyrs of Chełm and Podlasie. Now, another 30 holy martyrs have been glorified among the saints and added to the Synaxis.

The Bishops’ Council of the Polish Church met on Tuesday, March 17 under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and All Poland. Every hierarch of the Polish Church participated in the session, reports the official site of the Polish Church.

The 30 names added to the Synaxis of the Podlasie Martyrs are: Michała Antoniuka; Michała Antoniuka; Katarzynę Antoniuk; Nadzieję Antoniuk; Ksenię Antoniuk; Jana Antoniuka (b. 1931); Jana Antoniuka (b. 1920); Krystynę Antoniuk; Helenę Antoniuk; Annę Antoniuk; Mikołaja Kotermana; Pawła Kołosa; Marię Kołos; Zofię Kołos; Eugenię Kołos; Nadzieję Kołos; Antoninę Nikołajską; Daniela Olszewskiego; Marię Olszewską; Grzegorza Paszkowskiego; Juliannę Paszkowską; Stefanidę Paszkowską; Jana Paszkowskiego; Jana Sielewczonuka; Bazylego Kłoczko; Jana Szeszko; Marię Pietruczuk; Dionizego Szeszko; Jana Szeszko; Pawła Filipczuka.

The new saints will be commemorated on the last Saturday of July with the Synaxis of Podlasie Martyrs, on the day of the Zaleszańska Icon of the Mother of God.

The hierarchs also established a local feast on February 2 for the Church of St. Symeon Słupnik in Brańsk.
