Patriarchal Residence | Groups of carollers visit Patriarch Daniel

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel welcomed Tuesday evening, 20 December 2016, three groups of carollers coming from different parts of Romania.

The first group to interpret carols for the Patriarch of Romania was Choir Leon Bancila from Falticeni, directed by Mr Gabriel Catalin Ciobanu. Patriarch Daniel blessed the choir members and urged them to continue these beautiful traditions.

We are happy that several groups of carollers have come this year from Bukovina. We should continue these traditions of confessing Christ’s love for humanity, but also of conveying the beauty of Romanian spirituality, His Beatitude said.

A group of children from Brosteni Parish in Sibiu County followed. The Primate of the Romanian Church expressed his joy for carols are passed on from generation to generation and wished them happy holidays.

Axios mixed choral group from Radauti, coordinated by Mr Ciprian Casian Calancea, closed the carol recital. After the performance, the Patriarch encouraged them to continue these beautiful musical concerns and to preach the Nativity of Christ as the love of God for the world.

Finally, carollers received gifts on behalf of the Head of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
