New Religious Store opens in Bucharest. Patriarch of Romania officiates blessing service

His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, blessed the new religious store set up at St Anthony Church of the Princely Court in Bucharest. The store opened Tuesday, 17 January 2017, on the dedication day of St Anthony Church, after the celebration of the Divine Liturgy.

Patriarch Daniel delivered an address focusing on the missionary role of the religious store. His Beatitude also referred to the protector saint of the church, Venerable Anthony the Great, founder of the anachoretic life. He did not only deal with organising monasticism, but especially with the inner organising of the soul, the Patriarch said. His Beatitude went on to say that Saint Anthony remains the most illustrious father of monasticism worldwide and that he has shown monasticism’s spiritual force in defending true faith.

The faithful present at the event received the blessing of the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

Parish Priest Gheorghe Zaharia was awarded St Anthimos the Ivirite order of the Romanian Patriarchate for his missionary and pastoral activity.
