Metropolitan Petru of Bessarabia and Exarch of the Territories sent a congratulatory message on Sunday to Moldovan President Maia Sandu on the occasion of her birthday.
“The anniversary you mark today offers the natural opportunity to express our appreciation for the efforts with which you serve the Republic of Moldova at a time when our society seeks balance, clarity and direction after numerous divisions, ruptures and anxieties,” the Metropolitan wrote to the Moldovan head of state.
“Today, more than ever, there is a need for solidarity, for common effort and for people capable of looking beyond immediate interests, keeping before them the good of future generations.”
The Metropolitan of Bessarabia also expressed appreciation for the fact that President Maia Sandu remains “close to the identity and spiritual values that unite people, heal the wounds of the past and give meaning to common efforts”.
In conclusion, Metropolitan Petru conveyed wishes of health and blessings on behalf of the clergy and faithful of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Bessarabia.
