Feast of the Resurrection of the Lord at the Metropolitan Cathedral of „Saint Great Martyr Demetrius” of Nurnberg

The feast of the Resurrection of the Lord brought, like every year, thousands of Romanians together, in the Metropolitan Cathedral of “Saint Great Martyr Demetrius” of Nurnberg. The courtyard of the cathedral was overcrowded at the Resurrection service celebrated by His Eminence Serafim, Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan of Germany, Central and Northern Europe, together with the celebrating priests of the Cathedral of Nurnberg.

His Eminence Serafim delivered a sermon for the faithful present.

“The life of every human being is full of troubles and temptations which can be overcome through faith in the Resurrection, rooted in faith and insistent prayer. The Resurrection of Christ helps every one of us, if we really believe and insist in the Christian communion in the Church, where nobody is lonely”, the hierarch underlined.

The hierarch urged those present to love their fellow beings.

“The love for one another must be concrete, with good deeds, and helping our fellow human beings, especially those remained at home, in the country, in need and poverty. Keeping the Christian, Romanian, and Orthodox identity while living far from the boundaries of the country is how we can save ourselves from the loss because of the worldly anxieties”, His Eminence also said.

In the end, the Easter bread and the baskets of food were blessed – hierodeacon Ioan Popoiu, from the Press Office of the Eparchy announces.
