Drumul Taberei subway line will become operational in June, Transport Minister announces

The 7-km subway line serving the residents of Drumul Taberei neighborhood in western Bucharest will become operational in June, Transport Minister Lucian Bode confirmed for Mediafax.

The Romanian official has offered more information on the subject in a recent TV Show, G4 Media informs.

The dynamic tests and the final reception are to take place at the beginning of June.

Lucian Bode explained that three contracts are being executed on the subway line Drumul Taberei – Eroilor: one for the structure, another for furbishing and the third for automation. 95% of the structure and 80% of the furbishing have been completed, while all the necessary equipment for the automation has already been purchased and is being installed as soon as the furbishing for each sector is completed, he says.

Regarding the inauguration deadline, Minister Lucian Bode said that “at the end of June – beginning of July, passengers should be able to ride on the Drumul Taberei – Eroilor route “.
