Bucharest Archdiocese allocates $5,500+ for flood victims

At the initiative of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel of Romania, the Archdiocese of Bucharest, along with the North Ploieşti and Urlați Deaneries, is allocating $5,650 (24,000 lei) to provide food and drinking water for the victims of the heavy floods that struck Prahova County, just north of Bucharest, on Friday, May 31, and to help pay for the funeral of three children from a family from the village of Sângeru whose house was completely destroyed in the flooding.

A fourth child is still missing.

In addition to the funds allocated by the Archdiocese, the parishes of the two deaneries collected funds on Sunday, June 2, to aid the suffering families.

We express compassion for the bereaved family and pray to God to help it overcome this difficult ordeal of losing the four children taken by the flood.

Those wishing to help can donate to the flood victims to the account of the Urlați Deanery: RO42 RNCB 0205 0448 7338 0001.
