Bishop Timotei of Prahova: The Feast of the Ascension of the Lord urges us all to raise up our mind and heart to God

His Grace Bishop Timotei of Prahova celebrates Divine Liturgy on the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord

Many believers from Bucharest attended the Divine Liturgy celebrated May 25 at the Patriarchal Cathedral by His Grace Timotei of Prahova, Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Bucharest.

In his homily, His Grace focused on the spiritual beauty and significance of the glorious feast of the Ascension of the Lord. He reflected on the tie between the Resurrection of the Lord and our resurrection at the end of ages saying that those who believe in Him, love His commandments and seek for Him will live for always together with the Lord.

Referring to the fact that humans are not created for death, but for the ascension into heaven.

At the end of his speech, Bishop Timotei urged everyone to raise up his or her mind and heart to God. Let us keep the joy the disciples had when they received the blessing of our Saviour Jesus Christ during his ascension into Heaven, he said.
