The Social-Philanthropic and Missionary Sector of the Archdiocese of Târgoviște has offered 40 wheelchairs and 20 rollators walkers with frames to several social institutions in Dâmbovița County that take care of older people with disabilities.
According to the Archdiocese’s press office, the institutions include St Helen Elderly Care Home in Târgoviște, Social Assistance Directorate Târgoviște – Home Care Office for the Elderly, “Suflet pentru oameni” Association, Pucioasa City Hospital, the Medical and Social Assistance Centre in Bucșani and the Elderly Care Home in Mereni Conțești.
Last year, the Archdiocese of Târgoviște offered these institutions periodic donations of food, clothing, hygiene and sanitary products, as well as household appliances.
The year 2023 was proclaimed a Solemn Year of the pastoral care of the elderly and a Commemorative Year of hymnographers and church chanters.
