Ambassador of Russian Federation pays presentation visit at the Romanian Patriarchate

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel received Wednesday, 23 November 2016, the visit of His Excellency Valery Kuzmin, Ambassador of Russian Federation to Romania, at the Patriarchal Residence in Bucharest.

Ambassador Kuzmin thanked for the reception and presented briefly the church situation in Russia, stressing out the good ties between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Romanian Orthodox Church. In this regard, the Ambassador of Russian Federation to Bucharest appreciated the moral authority of the Church in promoting religious values and defending the traditional family. In addition, His Excellency referred to the need to manifest solidarity with other Christian communities in different parts of the world that are in danger, but especially with Christians in Syria.

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel congratulated the new Ambassador of Russian Federation to Bucharest, who is beginning his mission in Romania. The Patriarch of Romania emphasized the fraternal ties between the Romanian Orthodox Church and the Russian Orthodox Church, especially in today’s world, which is in a deep process of secularization that is primarily affecting the younger generations. His Beatitude also appreciated the importance of developing cultural and spiritual relations between Romania and the Russian Federation, in order to promote Christian values more intensively in the contemporary world.
