The Patriarch of Romania at the European Orthodox Christian Youth Meeting

The European Orthodox Christian Youth Meeting begins on Friday, 04 September 2015, in Cluj-Napoca. The event is organized by the Orthodox Christian Youth Association in Cluj, in partnership with the Archbishopric of Vad, Feleac and Cluj, and will be a premiere for the entire Orthodox world. Over 6000 young people from home and abroad are expected to participate in the event.

The opening ceremonies will be carried by His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romani, who will address a solemn message to the youth arrived from the entire world in Cluj‑Napoca.

During the event in Cluj-Napoca, the Head of the Romanian Orthodox Church will participate on Saturday, 05 September 2015, in the conference that will be held by Archimandrite Zacharias Zacharou, from St John the Baptist Monastery in Tolleshunt Knights, UK. On Sunday, 06 September 2015, the Patriarch of Romania will officiate at the Divine Liturgy in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Cluj-Napoca.

The program of the meeting is vast and is comprised of conferences, talks on spiritual subjects, greening activities, creativity workshops, musical shows, traditional dancing workshops, interactive theatre shows, photography, graphic imaging and iconography exhibitions, as well as a procession along the centre of the city.

The meeting is generically entitled Orthodox Youth together for the Future of Europe, and will take place over four days, from 04 to 07 September 2015, in Cluj-Napoca, the European Youth Capital in 2015.
