Șaisprezece ierarhi au conslujit sâmbăta trecută la Catedrala Buna Vestire din New York unde a avut loc hirotonia episcopală a Arhimandritului Nathanael Symeonidis, noul mitropolit grec de Chicago.
La slujba condusă de Arhiepiscopul Dimitrie al Americii a participat Înaltpreasfințitul Părinte Nicolae, Mitropolitul Ortodox Român al celor două Americi.
Arhimandritul Nathanael Symeonidis a fost ales de Sfântul Sinod al Patriarhiei Ecumenice în şedinţa de lucru din 7 februarie, urmare a vacantării scaunului mitropolitan anul trecut.
Ceremonia de întronizare se va desfăşura sâmbătă, 24 martie, în Catedrala din Chicago.
