In pictures: Orthodox Youth from Africa on pilgrimage to St Anne Monastery at Orsova

The Orthodox young people representing the Patriarchate of Alexandria at this year’s International Meeting of Orthodox Youth at Sibiu continued their stay in Romania with a visit to St Anne Monastery at Orsova.

Monday, September 17, the African young people attended the Divine Liturgy celebrated by the Assistant Bishop to the Timisoara Archdiocese, His Grace Bp Paisie of Lugoj, at St Anne’s monastery.

The liturgical responses were offered by the African delegation members.

After the Divine Liturgy, Bp Paisie accompanied the young people on a boat trip on Danube River.

The delegation of the Patriarchate of Alexandria at ITO 2018 visited several spiritual sights in Romania.

Their pilgrimage included Alba Iulia, the city where the Great Union of the Romanian Principalities was proclaimed 100 years ago, Ramet Monastery, Timisoara and other.

The ITO 2018 African delegation includes four clergymen, a nun, and 16 lay people from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Congo, Burundi, and Malawi.
