VIDEO | Two hierarchs concelebrate at Radu Voda Monastery on the feast of Saint Nectarios of Aegina

On Friday, November 9, the Patriarchal Auxiliary Bishop Varlaam of Ploiesti and the Assistant Bishop to the Bucharest Archdiocese, Timotei of Prahova, concelebrated at the Divine Liturgy held at Radu Voda Monastery in Bucharest marking the feast of Saint Nectarios of Aegina.

A particle of St Nectarios’s holy relics is enshrined at the Monastery’s main church, where thousands of believers come venerating every week.

The homily was delivered by Bp Timotei who spoke about the way St Nectarios reacted to slander and defamation from once his own friends.

St Nectarios chose to endure all with zeal, humility and silence, His Grace said.

Following the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Timotei of Prahova presented the abbot of the monastery, Archimandrite Nectarie Sofelea, with flowers, congratulating him on his name day.

Radu Voda Monastery was founded by Ruler Prince Alexandru Mircea (1568-1577) and his wife Ecaterina for the help received from God in obtaining victory over a battle.
