Today, 19 June 2013, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania received at the Patriarchal Residence the visit of the editors and coordinators of the national and regional editions of “Lumina” newspaper.
His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel congratulated them and spoke about the importance of the mission of the daily newspaper of the Romanian Patriarchate: “The mission of this daily newspaper is very great. It cannot be seen right away, but any spiritual investment works in time. The extension of Lumina newspaper through the regional editions involved much courage, effort and expense. Yet, we are glad to see that these regional editions emphasise aspects of the church life of various provinces. At the same time, Lumina newspaper is appreciated for the harmony among three important aspects: memory of the past, life of the Church at present, and hope given through the spiritual dialogues and articles”.
These days a working session took place at the headquarters of “Lumina” newspaper of Bucharest with the employees of the national edition and the people in charge with the regional editions of the newspaper. Such meetings are held at least once a year.
The daily newspaper of the Romanian Patriarchate has four regional editions: Moldova, Transylvania, Banat and Oltenia.
