Today, 25 March 2013, the feast of the Annunciation, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, participated in the Divine Liturgy celebrated at Tiganesti Monastery, county of Ilfov.
In the sermon delivered His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel showed that the feast of the Annunciation that the Orthodox Church celebrates today represents a new beginning of the humans’ salvation. His Beatitude has also explained the importance of this feast in the life of the faithful. “This feast of the Annunciation is a feast of joy because instead of the sadness for a world making for death the joy of grace comes now because the Immortal God unites with the mortal man so that man becomes immortal in Jesus Christ through the grace of God who gives resurrection and eternal life to those who love God and fulfil His will in their lives. The feast of the Mother of God is the Annunciation of salvation. The purpose of this mystery of the Incarnation or of the Humanity of the Son of God is to adopt man as a son of God according to the grace” His Beatitude said, according to Trinitas Radio station.
At the same time His Beatitude congratulated all the mothers who grow up children in the right faith: “On this day of the Annunciation we pray that Christ, our Lord, the Most Holy Trinity bless all the mothers, parents who give birth to children, grow up children in faith, and who prepare sons of the Church and of the Kingdom of Heaven as an answer of the blessing that they receive from God for the glory of the Most Holy Trinity.”
To end with, the Patriarch of Romania congratulated the abbess and the monastic community and offered little icons to the faithful present.
