The Palace of the Romanian Patriarchate has been consolidated and restored

The Palace of the Romanian Patriarchate will soon be open to the public. There will be a museum and a tourist information point in the recently rehabilitated building.

A press conference has been organized on Monday, 28 December 2015, in order to present the outcome of the project entitled Restoration, consolidation and protection woks at the Monument “the Palace of the Patriarchate” in Bucharest.

According to the financing contract, among the objectives of this project we recall: the opening of the Palace of the Patriarchate to the public; setting up a museum in which several objects from the treasury of the Romanian Orthodox Church will be exhibited; establishing a tourist information point, through which tourists both from home and from abroad will be able to find out more information about the sights they can visit in Bucharest; and creating new jobs, the project manager, Rev. Fr Liviu Nechita, declared for TV Trinitas.

The restoration works started in March 2013 and have been completed by the end of December 2015.

The Structural Funds under the Regional Operational Programme 2007-2013 financed this project of the Romanian Patriarchate.
