The Divine Liturgy and Te Deum to Open the Church National Assembly

Wednesday, 4 February 2015, a Te Deum service was celebrated, at the Patriarchal Cathedral, in the presence of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, of the Holy Synod members and of the Church National Assembly, for opening the working session of the Church National Assembly.

The religious service was celebrated by His Grace Andrei Fagarasanul, Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Sibiu.

Then, the annual working session of the Church National Assembly took place in the Conference Room of “Dumitru Staniloae” National Centre for Continuous Formation of Bucharest, under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.

The Te Deum service was preceded by the Divine Liturgy celebrated by His Grace Andrei Fagarasanul too.

The Church National Assembly is the central deliberative body of the Romanian Orthodox Church for the administrative, social, cultural, economical and patrimonial issues, made up of the members of the Holy Synod and of three representatives (one clergy and two lay persons) of each eparchy.
