Solemn Service for the Victims of the Fire at the Collective Club

Monday, 9 May 2016, a group of priests celebrated, with the blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, a solemn service marking six months since the fire of 30 October 2015 occurred at the Collective Club in Bucharest. Parents, friends and relatives of the victims attended the religious service.

Rev. Fr. Aurel Mihai, eparchial vicar to the Archdiocese of Bucharest delivered a speech in which he stressed the fact that we must pray for the souls of the late ones.

“We are still in the light of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Saviour, the proof and certitude of our resurrection the same as it is the certitude of the resurrection of all those who tragically and unexpectedly passed away during the fire at this Collective Club. Time comforts through prayer every one of those who remember the deceased young ones. This is why the solemn service celebrated today in the light and joy of the resurrection, when we remember all the deceased ones, is an opportunity to strengthen ourselves in our prayers for those who flew with angelic wings to the heavenly throne so that they should enjoy the blessing of Jesus Christ, our Saviour, risen from the dead on the third day”.

More than 60 persons have tragically died during that fire, most of them young.
