Serbian Patriarch Irinej visits Canada. Divine Liturgy celebrated at Milton Monastery

His Beatitude Serbian Patriarch Irinej is currently paying a pastoral visit to the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Canada, spc.rs reports.

Upon the invitation of His Grace Bishop Mitrophan of Canada, His Beatitude Patriarch Irinej visits the Serbian clergy and faithful of the Diocese of Canada from February 9 until February 16.

Sunday, 12 February 2017, feast day of the Holy Three Hierarchs according to the unrevised Julian Calendar, the dedication day of the side-chapel of the episcopal residence in the Milton Monastery (Ontario), His Beatitude Irinej celebrated the Divine Liturgy.

Patriarch Irinej concelebrated in the church of the Transfiguration of the Lord with Their Graces Bishop Longin of New Gracanica, Bishop Irinej of Eastern America and Bishop Mitrophan of Canada, together with an assembly of priests from the Diocese of Canada.

His Beatitude called upon the faithful of the Diocese of Canada to imitate the wonderful saints of the Church of God and, by following their examples, to come closer to God.

After the Divine Liturgy, the consecration of the renovated refectory of Monastery took place.

Patriarch Irinej’s visit to Canada will end Thursday, February 16.
