Romanian Royal Family joins Christmas Liturgy in Săvârșin

Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, and His Royal Highness Prince Radu, accompanied by Princesses Sofia and Maria, attended the Divine Liturgy on December 26 in Săvârșin Parish, Arad County. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Eminence Archbishop Timotei of Arad.

During his sermon, the Archbishop highlighted the celebration of the Synaxis of the Mother of God and the aid offered to believers through her intercession.

The Royal Family’s participation in the Christmas liturgy at Săvârșin has become a cherished tradition, as the parish church is near their Christmas residence. This act demonstrates their respect for the Orthodox faith and their connection to the local community.

Following the service, Her Majesty and Prince Radu invited Archbishop Timotei, the local mayor, and the parish priest to a Christmas lunch at Săvârșin Castle.
