Romanian Patriarchate’s Basilica Media Centre nominated for journalism special award

The Basilica Media Centre of the Romanian Patriarchate has been nominated for the Special Award granted by the Union of Professional Journalists of Romania (Uniunea Ziariștilor Profesioniști din România) at the “Excellence in Journalism” gala.

The ceremony will take place on February 16, starting at 7:00 p.m., at the Ion Creangă theatre in Bucharest.

Other nominees for the same distinction include Doina Dabija of the publication “Literatură și Artă” (Literature and Art) and journalist Andreea Esca.

The gala evening will bring together prominent journalists, public figures, representatives of the academic community, cultural personalities, state authorities and media executives.

Awards will also be presented for print journalism, press books, radio, television, online media, young journalists, photojournalism, war correspondents, media management, regional branch of the year and lifetime achievement (opera omnia).

About the Basilica Media Centre

The Basilica Media Centre is the institutional media structure of the Communications and Public Relations Department of the Romanian Patriarchate. It includes Radio Trinitas, Trinitas TV, the Lumina publications, the Basilica News Agency, and the Press and Public Relations Office.

The Basilica Media Centre has been operating since October 27, 2007, as a non-profit unit without legal personality within the Patriarchal Administration.
