Over 300 theologians, scholars to meet in Volos at IOTA 2nd Int’l Conference

Over three hundred theologians, scholars, professionals, lay leaders, students and clergy are expected to gather in Volos, Greece, for the second international conference organised by the International Orthodox Theological Association – IOTA in January 2023.

The conference theme is “Mission and the Orthodox Church”, and it begins on January 11, 2023, with an optional morning outing, an evening Opening Ceremony, and a keynote address by His Eminence Metropolitan Ambrosios of Korea.

Three working days of paper sessions will follow, along with opportunities for church services and socialising: January 12-14.

January 15 is reserved for Divine Liturgy and an optional pilgrimage to the Meteora monasteries.

Founded in 2017, the International Orthodox Theological Association is a community of scholars and professionals dedicated to the worldwide exchange of knowledge within the context of the Orthodox Tradition.

IOTA organises international conferences and facilitates group research projects; the association contributes to the growth and renewal of the Orthodox Church by supporting pan-Orthodox unity and conciliarity.
