Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania (NBR), as of 30 September 2019, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin dedicated to the 100 years of Romanian academic higher education in Cluj.
Obverse: the building and name of Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj, the inscription “ROMANIA”, the face value “10 LEI”, the coat of arms of Romania and the year of issue “2019”.
Reverse: the Aula Magna of Babeș-Bolyai University, an open book featuring the inscription “TRADITIO NOSTRA UNACUM EUROPAE VIRTUTIBUS SPLENDET”, the circular inscription “100 DE ANI DE UNIVERSITATE ROMANEASCA LA CLUJ” and the years “1919-2019”.
The mintage of this issue is 300 silver coins.
