Metropolitan Synod at the Patriarchal Residence

This afternoon, the Metropolitan Synod of the Metropolitanate of Muntenia and Dobrudgea met at the Patriarchal Residence of Bucharest under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Daniel, Archbishop of Bucharest, Metropolitan of Muntenia and Dobrudgea, Locum Tenens of Caesarea Cappadocchia and Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

To start with the meeting, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel referred to the agenda of the Metropolitan Synod and said: “The establishment through open consultation, followed by consultative secret vote of a list of two candidates from among the eligible hierarchs for the vacant position of Archbishop of Buzau and Vrancea will make the first part of our meeting, while the second part will be dedicated to the presentation of the financial reports of the eparchies of the Metropolitanate, and then the reports on the inventory of the hierarchs’ residences will be presented.

We will also approve the texts of the condac, icos and synaxar of Saint Hierarch Luke, Archbishop of Crimea, as well as his icon, and then will assign the representative of the Metropolitanate in the Commission for the estimation of the pre-university theological education, and the setting ups and re-establishments of monasteries.

Tomorrow, the members of the Eparchial Assembly of the Archdiocese of Buzau and Vrancea will meet, in Bucharest, the hierarchs of the Metropolitan Synod of Muntenia and Dobrudgea. The consultations will take place at the Patriarchal Residence.
