Memorial cross pays tribute to late bishop Gurie Georgiu in his hometown

A memorial cross was erected as a tribute to Bishop Gurie Georgiu of blessed memory in the churchyard of his native village of Huta in Cluj County.

The monument was blessed on July 30 by five hierarchs of the Romanian Orthodox Church, including Metropolitan Andrei of Cluj, Maramureș and Sălaj, Bishops Nicodim of Severin and Strehaia, Andrei of Covasna and Harghita, Nestor of Deva and Hunedoara and Assistant Bishop Emilian of Crișana of the Archdiocese of Arad.
