Funeral Service for the two Romanian victims of Paris terrorist attacks

The funeral service of the two young people killed during the Paris terrorist attacks on 13 November 2015, Ciprian Calciu and Lăcrămioara Pop, took place on Tuesday, 01 December 2015, at the Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral Holy Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael in Paris. The funeral service was officiated by His Eminence Iosif, Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan of Western and Southern Europe, surrounded by an assembly of priests and deacons, servants in the Parisian region, as Rev. Fr Iulian Nistea, servant at St John the Evangelist and Holy Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael Church in Paris, informs.

Together with the Romanian Orthodox faithful from Paris who filled the Cathedral were also present French friends and acquaintances of the young family, and also French state officials and members of the staff of the Romanian Embassy to Paris.

After the service, Ciprian and Lăcrămioara have been buried in the Romanian part of the Parisian Cemetery of Thiais, next to the graves of other members of the Romanian Orthodox Community in France who had passed to the Lord.
