The Symposium agenda includes the presentation of academic papers on Byzantine music, workshops, concerts, church services and visits to local ecclesiastical monuments.

The Symposium is dedicated to Saint Cecilia, who is related to religious music and art. She is honored by both the Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church every year on November 22.

The Symposium is expected to gather Orthodox women chanters of all levels from Greece and abroad, students of all kinds of music departments (Universities, Music Schools, Conservatoires, Ecclesiastical Music Schools etc.), nuns and every woman who appreciates the Psaltic Art.

The program includes the first festival of female Byzantine Choirs.

The symposium is organized by the Metropolis of Demetrias, the Volos Academy for Theological Studies, and the Adousai Women Byzantine Choir.
