Tonight, “Bilcuta” group of carollers from Suceava county carolled His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel. The event took place in Europa Christiana hall of the Patriarchate Palace.
The choral group sang folk carols from Bucovina region and the traditional “plugusor” carol.
To end with, the Patriarch of Romania offered them gifts and spoke about the importance of announcing the Nativity of the Lord and keeping our ancient traditions.
“We congratulate you for keeping our Romanian Orthodox traditions from the point of view of the carols content and dressing these beautiful folk costumes typical for Bucovina region which are spiritual beauty and artistic effort for making them and conveying this beautiful Romanian tradition. We wish the feasts of the Nativity of the Lord, New Year and Baptism of the Lord be a blessing for you, and bring you light, peace and much joy in your souls. May you have the joy of the shepherds from Bethlehem and the light of the angels on the Night of the Nativity of the Lord, and meet some other time again!”, His Beatitude said.
