Israeli Ambassador to Romania Lior Ben Dor visited the “Metropolitan Nifon” Theological Seminary in Bucharest on Tuesday, expressing appreciation for the students’ solid theological education and for the institution’s broader formation in both the humanities and sciences.

During the visit, the ambassador met Archimandrite Nectarie Șofelea, the seminary’s director, abbot of Radu Vodă Monastery, and Administrative Exarch of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, who also facilitated a meeting with the seminary’s students.

“The particularly engaging dialogue took participants through the mysteries of the Bible, highlighting the shared historical and cultural heritage of our peoples, as well as the theological foundation that brings them closer,” the Embassy of Israel said in a post on its Facebook page.

The visit also included discussions on strengthening relations between Romania and Israel, including through the development of bilateral tourism and the organisation of regular pilgrimages.

The ambassador thanked the students for the warm welcome and wished them success in their studies.
