6 May 1836 – Priest ISIDOR VOROBCHIEVICI, composer and professor, was born in Cernăuți. Studies at the High Gymnasium (graduated in 1857) and at the Theological Institute, both of them in Cernăuți (1856 – 1860), continued at “Akademie fur Musik und darstellende Kunst” in Vienna (1867 – 1868). Priest in Davideni (1861-1865) and Rușii Moldoviței (1865 – 1868), professor of vocal and choral music at the Theological Institute of Cernăuți (1869 – 1899). He formed many musicians and composers: Ciprian Porumbescu, Eusebiu Mandicevschi, Tudor Flondor, Mihai Ursuleac, etc.
Works: Hymns of the Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom – men’s choir (1869), Liturgy of Saint John Chysostom – for 3 equal voices (1881); Musical Harmony Manual (1869, Cernăuți). He passed away on 18 September 1903, in Cernăuți.
