Quo Vadis Film Festival 2026 to include an exhibition of Orthodox photography: How to submit photos

The International Quo Vadis Film Festival 2026, in cooperation with Byzanfest, will organize an exhibition of Orthodox photography entitled “My Neighbour: Orthodoxy around the World”.

Anyone can enter the final selection by submitting up to two photographs that reflect the Orthodox Christian faith as it is practiced in parts of the world other than countries with a predominantly Orthodox population (such as some countries on the European continent, Russia, and Ukraine).

“When one thinks about where Orthodox Christianity exists, they usually think of Greece, Russia, Romania, etc, also known as the ‘Old World. However, over time, Orthodoxy has reached the shores of every land on Earth, including the Americas, Asia, Australia, and beyond,” transmit the Byzanfest representatives.

“These ‘new’ lands, cultures and people who have embraced the faith have helped enrich how Eastern Orthodox Christianity is expressed.”

What themes to approach

The organizers aim to include in the exhibition expressions of Orthodoxy in countries and regions where believers are a minority—for example, Australia, the Middle East, China, and England.

Each submitted work may choose to depict cultural practices, architecture, holidays, daily life, and community activities, as well as portraits, landscapes, folklore, and local traditions.

How to submit photos

  • Each participant may submit no more than a single email and no more than two photographs, which must be in color and taken no earlier than in 2025. If a participant wishes to submit a black-and-white photograph, they must also provide a color copy of the same photograph.
  • Each photograph must have a resolution of at least 200 dpi. The photograph will be printed in A3 and/or A2 copies and displayed on walls.
  • An entry form needs to be filled in and sent along with the photos.
  • The email address for photo submissions is [email protected], and the deadline is September 15, 2026.

The selected photos will be exhibited during the 3rd edition of the Quo Vadis Film Festival, scheduled to be held in Iași, Romania, on November 10-14, 2026.
