The main events of the Orthodox world between August 16 and 22 were the Putna Celebration – 150 and the feast of Transfiguration according to the unrevised calendar.
The number 150 was “written” with lit torches by the young participants to the Putna Celebartion. The event commemorated 150 years since the first Putna Monastery Celebration of the Romanians from All Over the World, the spark lighting the ideal of Romanian cultural and national unity which later turned in political unity at the Great Union of 1918.
