The Second Easter Day at the Romanian Patriarchate

On 2 May 2016, the second Easter day, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Patriarchal Cathedral by His Grace Varlaam Ploieşteanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch, together with a group of priests and deacons serving at the Cathedral. The celebrating group also included the Very Rev. Archimandrite  Clement Haralam, Great Ecclesiarch of the Patriarchal Cathedral.

The Easter Pastoral letter of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church entitled Disciples of Christ – witnesses and heralds of His Resurrection was read during the Divine Liturgy.

“In our time, the feast of the Resurrection of the Lord or the Holy Easter urges us to be heralds of the merciful love of Christ, of peace and joy, in a world more and more confused and sad, often faced with division and violence, with poverty and sufferance, with disease and many forms of physical and spiritual death. The feast of the Holy Easter calls us to bring through prayer, word and good deeds the light of the Resurrection of Christ in the souls of the orphan children, lonely old people, of the helpless sick, of the mourning and sad families. Let us not forget, in our prayers and love, the Romanians who are among foreigners, and live missing their country and dear ones at home. We are waiting for them with much joy to come back home and stay in the country forever, because many localities of Romania are sad and helpless without them!”, reads the Easter Pastoral letter of the Patriarch of Romania.

The liturgical answers at the Divine Liturgy were given by Nicolae Lungu choire of the Romanian Patriarchate.
