The five institutions belonging to the Basilica Media Centre of the Romanian Patriarchate were placed under the protection of the Holy Trinity, having as model and help the Divine Persons ‘who offer themselves to each other and work together in a perfect harmony, while their glory shows the holiness and the beauty of their eternal love.’
The belief in the Most Holy Trinity is the main doctrine of the Orthodox Church, a teaching reflected in the entire ecclesial activity transmitted by the Basilica Media Centre.
The Basilica Media Centre, founded at the initiative of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel on October 27, 2007, will celebrate this autumn its 12th anniversary.
The departments of the Media Centre – Radio Trinitas, Trinitas TV, Lumina Publications, Basilica News Agency and the Press office – broadcast together the message of the Romanian Orthodox Church, presenting its institutions, activities, and stances to the society.
Referring to the collaboration between the media institutions of the Romanian Patriarchate, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel stressed that ‘the Basilica Media Centre is like a hand with five fingers through which the Church works for a correct information of the believers regarding its life and activity today.’
The Basilica Media Centre represents the concrete activity of the Romanian Patriarchate’s Department for Communication and Public Relations.
The institution functions as a non-profit sub-unit of the Patriarchal Administration.
The day before the Feast of the Holy Trinity, the Basilica News Agency, the youngest member of the Media Centre, celebrated the 11th anniversary of its foundation.
